The heater is the heart of a traditional sauna, and the one component people most often get wrong — usually by buying too much kW for the room, or too little. The rule is roughly 1kW per 45 cubic feet of well-insulated sauna, adjusted up for glass and cold walls. What to buy first
Before you look at a single brand, work out the kilowatts (kW)your room needs — because a heater that's the wrong size for the space is the one mistake that ruins a sauna, and no brand name fixes it. The rule of thumb is roughly 1kW for every 45 cubic feet of well-insulated room. A small 2-person cabin wants about 4.5kW; a big 5-6 person room wants 8-9kW. What decides the price

The mistake buyers make
Getting the kW wrong. An undersized heater never reaches temperature, so you sit in a lukewarm box and blame the stove; an oversized one overshoots and wastes energy heating a room that was already hot.
