How we work

Editorial Policy

The rules that keep our picks honest, and what to do when we get something wrong.

Independence

No brand, manufacturer or retailer pays Sauna & Slate for a placement, a ranking, or a kind word. We are not sent free units, and we don't participate in "sponsored review" arrangements. Our only revenue is the affiliate commission described in our affiliate disclosure — and a commission rate has never changed a ranking. When a cheaper product that pays us less is the better buy, we rank it first and say why.

How we choose picks

  • Real, currently-sold products only.Every sauna and accessory on the site was resolved against Amazon's live catalog. We do not feature a product from memory or one we can't verify is on sale.
  • Scored against a published rubric — see our methodology. No research, no score.
  • Buyer-first.The pick that's right for the reader wins, even when a pricier option pays us more.

Sourcing and accuracy

  • Specifications are transcribed from the manufacturer's own listing and treated as claims.
  • Health claims cite peer-reviewed studies, named and linked.
  • Prices and availability come only from the live Amazon data layer — never hand-typed.
  • We never fabricate a price, rating, an endorsement, or a test result.

No fabricated endorsements

Sauna & Slate is a new, independent publisher. We have no customers and sell nothing directly, so there is no first-party feedback to show — and we will never invent any. The scores you see are our editorial judgment from documented research, clearly labeled as such, never dressed up as customer endorsements or lab measurements.

Corrections

If we publish something factually wrong, we want to fix it. Flag it via our contact form or email info@saunaandslate.com, and we aim to correct material errors within 48 hours, with a visible note where the correction is significant.

Update cadence

Prices refresh daily. Roundups and spec tables are reviewed quarterly and whenever a featured model is discontinued. Health guides are reviewed annually against current literature. Each page shows a real "reviewed" date — never a fabricated one.
