Why infrared runs cooler than a traditional sauna
The whole mechanism is different. A traditional sauna heats the air to 170-190F and lets that hot air warm you — so the air temperature has to be high. An infrared cabin uses emitters that radiate far-infrared, which warms your bodymore directly at a much lower air temperature, usually 120-140F. Why a lower number still makes you sweat
Don't judge an infrared cabin by the thermometer alone — infrared feels warmer on the skin than the air temperature suggests, because the radiant heat is landing on you directly rather than reaching you through hot air. A cabin sitting at 130F on the gauge can have you sweating freely, which a traditional sauna wouldn't at the same air temperature. What temperature to set
